Antimicrobial Activities of Laurus nobilis Leaves Ethanol Extract on Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonellae typhi, and Escherichia coli.

Laurus nobilis is one of the most well-known, frequently used plants from Lauraceae family which contains up 2.500 species that grow in subtropics and tropics Mediterranean region Indonesia. This study was supposed to investigate antimicrobial eff ect L.nobilis leaves ethanol extract on Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonellae typhi, Escherichia coli. preliminary examined extract. The method Agar-well diff usion for determination zone inhibition minimum bactericidal concentration activity at 100% . results revealed L. had antibacterial against aureus with a (16.3 ±1.5 mm), (14.5±0.5 weak coli (11.3±1.1mm). Also, through experiment, it’s killed bacteria all start it 5×107 5×104. But just weaken 106. research has concluded exhibited signifi cant typhi then considered kind multidrug-resistant bacteria.
